A graduate of Bishop’s College, Colombo 03, she holds a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology/Biotechnology from Queen Mary University of London and an MSc in Medical Microbiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is married to Darshan Pathirana, a former member of the Colombo Municipal Council. He currently serves as the organiser for the Borella Electorate and is the Managing Director of Terminus Bakers and Caterers. Their daughter, Dinalie, studies at Bishop’s College, Colombo.
Chamika J. Pathirana is contesting the Colombo Municipal Council Election 2025 as a dedicated candidate from the United National Party (UNP) — Sri Lanka’s longest-standing political party, symbolized by the elephant.
